Fender Precision Bass 1976 Natural

For sale: a 1976 Fender Precision Bass, a wonderful vintage example with all the character, feel, and authority you would expect from a great mid-’70s P-Bass.

This instrument is original except for the pickguard, which is not original. It also comes with a non-original case, and please note that the original chrome covers are not included.

What makes this bass especially appealing is that it is clearly a real player’s instrument. It has been played a lot, and that shows in the best possible way. In particular, there is finish wear and lacquer loss on the neck, where the lacquer has come away in places from years of use. This is honest wear, not artificial relicing — the kind of natural aging that many players actually love because it tells the story of the instrument.

Of course, this could be refinished or touched up, but I prefer to leave that decision to the next owner. As it stands, the bass remains an inspiring, great-playing vintage instrument with genuine character and authenticity.
