For sale is a rare and highly desirable 1983 Fender American Vintage Reissue ’61 Jazz Bass, made in the USA at the legendary Fullerton factory.

This is one of the early American Vintage Reissue Jazz Basses from Fender’s first reissue era, featuring the classic stacked knob control layout inspired by the earliest 1960s Jazz Bass design. These Fullerton-era AVRI instruments are well known for their quality, feel and strong collector appeal, and this example captures the look and spirit of an early ’60s Jazz Bass beautifully.

The bass has the classic vintage-style Jazz Bass voice: open, articulate, punchy and full of character, with the added charm and tonal flexibility of the stacked volume/tone controls for each pickup. It feels great in the hands and is a very inspiring instrument for stage, studio or collection.
